Castlebrae High School pupils assist at Get Online sessions
Get Online has, for the first time, set up a partnership with a local High School to involve senior school pupils in supporting learners. The Craigmillar/East Neighbourhood Get Online group were very ably assisted by four students from Castlebrae High accompanied by Castlebrae ICT teacher Barry Ferguson. A very big thank you to them all for attending this and four subsequent sessions through into November. We intend that this will become an ongoing part of the Get Online sessions at Craigmillar in the future and, indeed, the intention is to look at establishing similar partnerships with other schools across the city. As at several Edinburgh schools, Castlebrae’s pupils recently received iPads to assist with their studies and they were particularly helpful in providing help to those learning how to use those devices – in fact it quickly became known in the group as iPad corner!!
